eBay
eBay at New York Comic Con
Project Details
Who doesn’t know eBay? They are the largest and one of the most well known e-commerce businesses in the world, but you might not expect them to be at New York Comic Con right? That was our initial thought here at Foster, but when you dive into it they are the perfect fit for a show like this offering all sorts of collectible items such as comic books, trading cards, memorabilia, games, and just about anything pop culture related.
Foster was initially introduced to eBay through ReedPop. ReedPop is the show organizer who runs New York Comic Con (NYCC) and they look at Foster as a preferred vendor for custom-fabricated booths and experiences. Foster began working with eBay back in 2021 and it was their first time exhibiting at NYCC. Like any client, we walked them through the process and handled everything as a turnkey service so we made it a very comfortable experience.
As far as needs go, eBay wanted to have various high-end products on display, a private area for streaming, point of sale stations, and an overall theme that can tie it all together.
Some key features of their space included:
- Gigantic fabricated LED light boxes that stretched overhead
- Custom halo lit hanging sign
- Built-in displays on automatic turntables
- Double deck structure
- Interactive step in display/photo-op
Fostering Results
The presence of eBay at NYCC was very well-received by fans. In their first year, eBay collaborated with DJ Skee that would drive much of the creative, including a super fun scavenger hunt with high value prize rewards. In eBay’s second year at New York Comic Con they enhanced their overall presence even more which helped drive year over year sales.
